Looking for some areas to run through deep, thick mud in Virginia - ideally close to Richmond and not crowded.

Yes. More than 5 already sinking is too many.

I live nearby, in Goochland. Most areas are surrounded by dense suburbia. However, if you head east, towards tidewater, there’s some areas out there that are deep and desolate. Try Urbana, sparsely populated, lots of winding rivers and tidal mud.
