Coffee table art piece.

I saw this pic on Facebook and I started a "what if " thought process.

I female manakin and a piece of glass simulating the surface of Quicksand. Kinda cool for my mancave... but a bit odd to explain to non-quicksanders who visit.

There was a story a few years ago of a fantasy spa that had a table lamp of a woman sinking... that be very cool as a companion piece.

Random thoughts.

So I was also pondering how to explain that hippo to some visitors vs the sinking girl. I'm actually not quite sure which one would seem weirder to them. ;)

Hippos love water. It's only us who see a table with a clear surface as being something other than water.

Okay, that explained why the hippo is partially submerged. What it doesn't explain is why a table made out of a hippo exists.

It's different, that's for sure. Although I wouldn't mind having it. I am an animal lover.

Its a tribute to a small hippo named Muddylocks. It broke in to the property and tried the pool but found it too deep and cold. Then it tried the bathtub but it was too hot and small. And so on.

Thanks! It's the kind of avatar that sometimes seems to move in the corner of the eye... ;)

And regarding weird coffee tables of any kind, the best explanation is probably still:
"It's Art."

You hardly ever argue with that. :)
