Technological Breakthrough - Viewer Directed Television (and fake news)

A new breakthrough in technology, possibly related to certain diplomatic incidents in Cuba and China, has now been revealed to present what may become a Great Leap Sideways for the next generation of television and movies. The breakthrough, a hypersonic brain scanning receiver, may have potential for television shows in which every event is controlled and actually generated from the mind of the viewer. In the words of one anonymous engineer who claims to have inside information, one person could be watching a cherished episode of Leave It to Beaver while another person sitting on the same sofa and watching the same screen could be seeing a bus load of cheerleaders scrambling around and sinking in a vast pit of quicksand. That same engineer did admit that commercial development of this new development is probably several centuries in the future. He also did admit that there might be a side-effect in some people similar to those of a concussion.

Not that I know about. On the other hand about six years ago there was a loud high pitched sound here for about five or six weeks. I thought it was the 17 year cicada swarm at the time. Hmmm.
And I have heard the tardis go by a few times, trying to find me.

I seriously don't think it's going to be long (maybe another decade or two) before we're plugging our brains directly into the interwebs. Lay down on a bed, jack into your USB (Universal Brain) Port, and bam, you're in the Matrix.
Scary but exciting prospect. On one hand you have the question of who controls it, but on the other hand a virtual world that can literally be ANYTHING you want it to be is an awesome concept, and it'll have the biggest impact on mankind since the invention of fire.

Something like this is fun in concept, but I will never do it in real life. No way am I allowing myself to be controlled or brainwashed thank you very much.

There are some here that I would very much like to have a look directly into their imaginations. Others it would be great to relive their actual adventures. The real fun might be to hang a Bluetooth Thought Transmitter on certain of the models.

“Where a calculator on the ENIAC is equipped with 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighs 30 tons, computers of the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes and perhaps weigh one and a half tons.” — Popular Mechanics.
