1996 - when I discovered Kaol

Postby reisen55 » Sun Mar 07, 2010 2:42 pm

Just an odd memory here, see how many others recall stumbling onto Kaol way back in 1996 or so. I remember the picture of one of his models in a bikini up to her upper legs in quicksand/mud (video from a bridge) and .. ASTONISHMENT.... wow, this is FOR ME.

That one image sticks with me to this day. How many others remember it?

Those Images still exist. I found them, Kaol's old video THE MIND IS THE KEY.

Kaol's site was the first I hit when I wandered into the community in 1998... The Mind is the Key one of the first real images I saw. Haven't been the same since. In a good way... :)

Ah, yes, the young lady in the bikini is Alice, if I recall correctly. In fact, I believe she's the one that you hear shouting, "Help me, I'm in quicksand!" right before "Red Rubber Ball" began playing.

I remember that gal and that scene quite well. Kaol's Ol' Sinkin' Hole was the third Quicksand Site I came upon early that one Saturday morning around 2:00 AM back in January of 2000. And, I didn't stop exploring Quicksandland until around 6:00 AM when I finally had to get away from the computer to get some sleep. I was right back surfing Quicksandland again a few hours later. :D

Right, me too. It was 1998 and she was off the dock into the muck to retrieve the sword that was thrown there. Not much of a plot, but how much is really needed? The first main site that I clicked on back in 1998 - a welcome site, at that, too.

Is this the image (courtesy of the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine)? 8-)

For more of the "blast from the past", check out the two links below, and even if a thumbnail is missing for a picture, the odd missing one still links to a picture!:

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... index.html
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... .com/Kaol/

For some reason, for Feb 2'nd, 1999 and earlier, Kaol's main Geocities page loads briefly, but then it gets replaced by "The Ypeek Yellow Pages" website! :x So, you may have to stop the loading once Kaol's site fully loads for the main page for those earlier dates (others seem okay, although I never checked them all). :?

Anyways, lots of gems there! Explore! :D

And for starters, for a real treat, right-click on the following links and save:

http://web.archive.org/web/200407152328 ... rsmall.mpg
http://web.archive.org/web/200412082235 ... fsound.mpg
http://web.archive.org/web/200304110244 ... le2Ann.wmv
http://web.archive.org/web/200304110246 ... er2wmv.wmv

There are these and some mainstream qs clips at http://web.archive.org/web/200406180810 ... ksand.html, but you have to right-click on them, and some are not available. 8-)

And, a certain thread got locked recently before I had a chance to post a relevant link to Kaol's page containing the photos of interest:

http://web.archive.org/web/200408051427 ... ages4.html

Don't you just love the Internet Archive?
I sink, therefore I WAM!!!!

Ah, now THAT'S music to my ears! :D

Man, that brings back memories of Kaol's old site. I always enjoyed listening to the various music he had for his different pages and stories, especially the stories. The music often seemed to set the tone for those written creations.

I remember seeing pictures of The Lost Pooch. Lovely girl with a miniskirt in quicksand was a dream to see. Then I saw the video and wished she sunk a little more naturally haha
