Certainly since I as very young, maybe 5 or 6 years old. Think it started off with seeing quicksand or mud scenes in films and TV. Then when I was about 8 or 9, there was a real-life story in a magazine about a guy who sank chest deep in quicksand and had to be rescued by his friends, and I was hooked. From then on I was always looking for incidents of people getting stuck, or it being in a film on TV. And there were a couple of incidents when I was at school of people sinking
