Super Bowl Chat?

For anyone here who, like me, cannot stand professional American Football, and who is therefore left with little or nothing to do while everyone else drinks beer and eats pork ribs and pretends to be an expert coach of the game, I will open and man the chat room at http://psychicworldjungleland.com for the duration of the game. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30PM (Central Time) on Sunday, February 3. I have done this most years, sometimes with a dozen or so people coming in and sometimes with no one coming in.

To participate you have to be a member of quicksandland.com and you can use your password for that site to enter the chat room site. For anyone not familiar with the chat room but wanting to come in during the game, I strongly suggest doing a test log in. To support that I will try to maintain a good presence in the chatroom between now and the game, but I obviously cannot be there all the time. At any rate, if you get to the chat window you can type something to see how it works, and to make sure it works, even if no one else is there.

While in the room, which is conceptualized as a bar and grill, try typing "/order jungleland ribs" The ribs are boar ribs and I am told this is the year of the boar.

I have no interest in any sports - so Superbowl Sun will be spent being creative & making things such as this. You are correct, the year of the Boar (pig) begins on Feb. 5th Lunar New Year

This year is definitely the year of the boar. I can also state categorically that there will be at least one scene that can be said to be from a year of the Boer (as in pith helmet). let's hope it does not turn out to be the year of the bore.

Just imagine if every member here did one creative thing related to quicksand instead of pretending to be an expert on football, stuffing themselves with party food, and washing it all down with cheap beer.

LOL. Half the people actually getting paid to coach the game are not experts. I'm not quite sure which end of the ball one should hold but I DO know the ultimate secret to winning EVEZRY game. And it works in basketball, ice hockey, baseball, soccer, and a bunch of other sports as well. Its one simple thing that if yu do consistently you will win consistntly.

But if I told you I'd have to push you into the quicksand.

I will be seated on the couch with wife and dog watching a heavily diluted game for which I have significantly less passion than I once did. We will wait for a politically correct, gender neutral, non-sexist, apolitical, advertisement that we agree was the best even though it wasn't that great, and cheer for Tom Brady as he gets his ninth Super Bowl appearance after an arduous fourteen year struggle as the leagues chosen one. It will be good preparation for next season as he continues to drink the blood of virgins and receive youth enhancing sex from his genetically flawless super-fox significant other so we can watch him as he continues to accumulate more Superbowl rings than the combined rosters of the 1974-79 Pittsburgh Steelers. My wife informs me that he should continue to play for at least as long as George Blanda because he is beautiful. Half-time festivities will be comprised of a racially balanced and diverse group of people that were willing to take a lot of money and I have never heard of. At some point in the third quarter I will doze off with the dog as the referees combined eye-glass prescriptions are unable to evaluate a touchdown and a ten minute seance must be held with Tom Landry to determine the wrong call. My wife will awaken me just before Tom Brady shouts "I'm going to Disney World" and is mobbed by adoring family and friends. Television pundits who gave him up for dead half-way through the season when his team was soundly defeated by the Tennessee Titans will deny having ever had any loss of faith and marvel at the incredible comeback story. Three days later 99% of the population won't be able to tell you who the competing teams were.

Thank goodness for Cheerleaders. At least until they are replaced with effeminate, ethnically diverse, gender neutral dance students.

This is one of the three reasons I will be in the chat room instead of watching the game. The other reasons are 1) I hate football, especially professional football, and 2) This place is so rural the TV could not bring in the signal even if I wanted to watch.
