Well I think the flip answer would be "when its warm enough." However, what is optimal almost certainly depends on multiple factors that probably don't go together in linear fashion. [See your old math teacher to figure out what that means].

For me, being in Atlantic Canada, typically mid june. Temps at night typically stay around the double digits for the low.

Totally depends on your preferences.
I for myself take a break from June till September because of all the bugs and ticks and else. Also sunset is so late. Others are doing the exact opposite.

When it's warm, dry, and private enough. Much depends on location. Other than that it's anytime.

In my experience, July and August is very nice to sink in bogs. Last year when it was very dry it was great. alot of mires/bogs usually have this water layer that covers a few decimeters of the mud, but last summer the water layers had evaporated. Nice thick bog mud all visible. But it really depends on the bog and mire though, some mires and bogs will be worse when dried up.

I did a premier sink two weeks ago, it was VERY cold. I couldn't really enjoy it as much as i hoped. But i did find some very nice mud holes that will be ripe for summer.
But im going to start as fast the heat season starts in June. But alot of spring water might still be left so it will be harder to find isolated bog mud.

The bogs i've been sinking in is around the mid of scandinavia.

That depends entirely on where you live. I’m in NE Florida. Sinking season is normally from April through the 3rd of 4th week in July. Then it gets too hot. Even the cleanup will become too hot, because the water warms up too much in the numerous tidal creeks. But Around the beginning of October, sinking season resumes and can go right in to December. Keep in mind, although there’s some really hot days in June and July, the mud is still relatively cool. Likewise, for those chilly days in late October through early December, the mud is relatively warm. Cool and/or hot mud feel incredible good depending on the season. Personally, after a really deep sink, I enjoy a nice long rest by laying completely encased by the mud, with nothing but an air passage that’s just enough that I can continue breathing, with the majority of my head submerged and entire body submerged as deep as possible. I can lay like that for hours and hours if not for the incoming tide.
