Quicksand Fans

Anyone remember the tar monster from Scooby Doo 2 what were your thoughts about him and his potential to us?

That was way after my time. Never heard of it before.

I am rather baffled at what the original post was attempting to ask here. The best I can reason out is that the question was about the potential of whatever the "tar monster" was, and I am guessing that is the "eye" in the image (I think the image is some sort of vidcap, based on the "bandicam" title.

And then there is the intended meaning of "potential."

As a video producer I will assume, probably too narrowly, that "potential" was meant as relevant to video scenes.

In general, not to mention in my opinion, I see fair potential in any sort of creature or monster as an element in a quicksand scene. Scenes of that kind have been done in the past and certainly can be done again. On the other hand, technical issues have to be considered. In the monster has to appear in the scene how can that be done? Can it be done at all? Now knowing any more about the monster or any backstory I have no basis to answer further about that.

The original post also mentioned the context of Scooby Doo, which is a cartoon. Cartoon characters can be played by live performers - I am aware of one quicksand scene being filmed using Scooby Doo characters - but doing so can be expensive, depending on how it is done, so the key is really whether or not the expense is worth it. Most likely, doing something of this sort is probably in the "only as a custom scene" category.

And maybe I have completely misunderstood the original question.

That’s Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne in one of the two shitty Scooby doo live action movies from years ago. I’m not gonna lie, when that slime monster grabbed her I was interested, but it was really only a few seconds that they showed her in its grasp. It almost engulfed her I think. But it wasn’t as cool as you’d think it would be.

Just to clarify (ok, muddy the waters) a bit, the Scooby Doo scene I referred to is one that was filmed here at Studio 588, but not BY Studio 588. I am unawre if it was ever released, but I do still have the green and orange wigs.

I assume that you’re asking if there’s any potential in sinking in a tar pit. I would say emphatically, NO!!! There’s a good reason why so many animal skeletons have been found in tar pits. If you go sinking in an isolated tar pit, we’re probably never going to hear from you again. You’ll be rescued...or should I say, your bones will be rescued, but it’ll be in a few hundred million years, when some future advanced humanoid digs you up. First, tar is incredible sticky...much more so than any mud anywhere, by the order of 10’s of magnitude. So if you sink down into it, you’re not going to get yourself back out. Then there’s the density thing. Tar, being a natural petroleum product, is actually lighter than water. That makes it lighter than you too. Thus, it may take days, but eventually you’ll sink to the bottom, even if you’re sinking is imperceptible. That just means you’re sinking incredibly slow. But that’s irrelevant because you’re not going anywhere anyhow. So there’s plenty of time to keep sinking. Eventually you’ll find yourself drowning as it ever so slowly pulls you down. While that might sound like something highly erotic, it’ll be the LAST TIME for you to live out your fantasy. Just stay away from any tar pits. That’s a really bad idea.

I should have been more clear but I was trying to ask what people felt about a monster made of tar capturing girls ( that's what I meant by potential)
