I wanted to say "Happy Birthday to Us!", but it just looks weird as a header.
Anyways, it's been a year for this board. And I think it was a good year.
I'd like to thank our sponsor-hosts, Fred, Robert and Michael (and Duncan),
And our moderators Duncan Edwards and General Woundwort, who have quietly maintained a low key atmosphere here,
And our skilled and intrepid system administrator Kookus (who has kept everything running as smoothly as our provider has allowed).
But most of all, I would like to thank all of the members who have actively participated in the various forums. Without that participation, we would not have the sense of community that I know is so important to many of us.
Here's to another interesting and fun year!!

And that boys and girls is how we got to this place.
There are players on any team but somebody has to get out in front and lead. Thanks Dave.
I would also like to thank all the users, participants, and contributors to QSF. We are a collective that needs each other and here is our home. Before we began I was warned that moderating was an onerous, challenging, thankless, and soul sapping task. The General and I have actually tried very hard to avoid moderating anything and all of you in turn have given us very little to deal with. Many thanks to every one of you for making this such a pleasant place.
The last few weeks have been kind of a challenge as Dave and Kookus knocked their brains out to get the system bugs resolved with Go Daddy. Looks like we're now in pretty good shape to continue growing this next year. Ya'll have a good 'un.

It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

It's been a great year. May there be many more where this one came from.

Yes indeed, Happy Birthday to Quicksand Fans!
Many thanks, Dave, for making this celebration happen! And thanks to Fred, Duncan, Robert, and Michael as well for their sponsor-host roles. And, of course, thanks to Duncan and General Woundwart for maintaining the peace, and thanks to Kookus for maintaining the system.
This is a very cool place!

I can't quite believe it's been a year already. How time flies by when you're having fun...

So, for a year now I've been looking at that topic, "Quicksand Fans Rules" and...did anybody beside me notice that you can read that subject line two different ways?
You can interpret it to mean that it's the forum rules, but it also could be said like this:
"Quicksand Fans RULES!"
It also rocks, rolls, is awesome, and of course it sinks, but without ever sucking.
