That is a still taken during filming of one of my videos. Kenham (Ken Hamilton) was a member of my crew. He had permission to post the stills he did, although with certain guidelines which he failed to observe. One of those was the inclusion of my copyright, which if he had included would have made your inquiry unnecessary.

So...this dude not including your copyright in his stills is the reason the video hasn't been released? I don't understand. Was he the main director or something or what

Who said the scene hadn't been released? It is against forum rules as I understand them to discuss specifics of videos except in my own forum. For what it is worth, I am the producer and was the director. The principal photographer was myself and Ken was the secondary one.

You mentioned that my "inquiry" would've been unnecessary if the copyright was included in those stills, so I thought you were implying that the video wasn't released because the copyright wasn't in it.

What I meant was that the copyright would say "Studio 588" and from there it would be easy to find.

Fred has an archaic interpretation of the rules. Instead of a straight "Yes, this is the scene and I made it", he will act like the rules restrain him from admitting that he is a producer and will instead create threads in his producer sub-forum and assume people will know to look there, an approach that I've never seen anyone else take, anywhere.

It might harsh on Fred, but I don't think anyone has reported a producer for identifying a scene they made when asked. It may have been an unwritten rule or agreement when the forums were set up, but it's not codified in the rules and, to quote the sticky thread, the moderation is laid back in most instances.

To cut through the ridiculous and unnecessary loophole that only Fred follows, here's his post from the Studio 588 forum:

In reply to the question about whether a scene is available, asked in another sub forum, the answer is yes. The scene is scene 295, Hannah's Night Photo Shoot. The price for the video shoot is $12.00 and the complete set of stills is available also in two sizes. The price is $0.01 per image for the full-sized stills or half that for the same set reduced to 600 pixels in the longer dimension. There are 468 stills, so the prices are $4.68 or $2.34, except that all orders are subject to a minimum total order of $8.00.

If this actually is a rule that is enforced, then I'd like to point out how silly it is that anyone else can answer the question and Fred can't.

I think Fred is just very cautious to avoid even the suggestion of stepping over the line. Responses may vary depending on the question and who asks it.

The method of "See the post about this in the _____ forum" seemed to work well in the past.

I'm not sure why that was not employed here.

In any case, there is indeed a rule/agreement that prohibits producers from posting particulars about any specific scene of theirs in the Public Area of the board. It's not a rule that applies to general members, so it is not listed in the board rules.

Have there actually been any issues with producers doing anything that could remotely be considered problematic? I understand that the line has been drawn to avoid conflict of interest. But the producers pretty much know each other and have remained the same - with some recent changes - for years. No one's been actively promoting their products on the public forums since...forever. It's just so strange to have producers basically have to sit in a dark room, have their voice changed and then apply for a witness protection program just to answer a basic a question.

Pragmatically, I don't see what's hard about "This scene was produced by me. PM me for details" instead of leaving breadcrumbs. Instead of having a friendly discussion together in a single thread, it feels like Fred is being locked in his own room and is talking to himself.
