It seems too much risk for me if I would take it (or anything other critical things) with me. For example sometimes it's difficult to find clothes. It's not a problem to lose some through-out clothes and shoes (I have some in my car), but it would be very nervous if I leave keys with them. And probability to lose something when walking in a forest and swamp is relatively high too. So I think that risk of hijaking this things from the car parked in relatively non-public area is relatively small. We need to consider some risk of hijacking the whole car but I think the chance of such a bad scenario isn't very big, haha.
But I don't like to bring a lot of gear into the mud at all. Less things - less problems. Car is very useful for this approach because it allow to leave a lot of stuff inside.
