I always make certain there is a body of water handy to clean up in afterward before I do any sinking at any spot. That way, I can leave the area, all nice and clean, and no one will be the wiser. You mentioned that a couple of pits were full of water. You could try cleaning up in one of them as best as you can before leaving, which reduces the amount of cleanup left when you get back home. 8-)

Thanks for sharing! Glad you got to go and explore the quarry! If I was in the UK, I'd love to go check it out or go with you!

I can relate to how you felt, even now that I've been doing this for a few years, I went out yesterday to a place where I've got messy in the mud before and it's been pretty dry here so there wasn't much mud and not as many great areas for cleaning off, but when I spotted a place to clean off and some very enticing mud, I could feel my heart racing w/excitement, like I knew what was going to happen next ;)

When do you plan on returning OP?
