A Note Regarding the Use of the Chat room

For those wishing to use the chat room, be aware of the following quirk in the wqy it works. I can't say if this is a bug or just an odd behavior but it can affect use under certain conditions.

The chat room software provides a setting whereby anyone in the chat room will hear a sound if someone speaks. This can be very useful if you walk away from the console or cover up the chat window with another. HOWEVER, it seems that the sound does not occur the FIRST time it should.

Therefore, if you enter the room and there is someone there, you speak, and the other person does not answer, try speaking a second time before giving up. It is possible the person has left without logging out but it is about equally likely they merely have the chat window covered up.
