Quicksand Fans

I'm thinking of making the switch from glasses to contacts for a variety of reasons and I'm wondering of anyone here has experience with wearing them while sinking and or generally getting muddy.
Do you leave them in? Take them out?
Can you blink away a little dirt if it gets in your eye or can it get under the lens and cause you trouble?
My main concern is my eyes are so bad if taking them out was necessary, I'd have to do so when I got to my spot and then put them back in before leaving, not exactly an ideal environment for doing so.
Also I'd love to leave them in and actually be able to see when I'm enjoying a good struggle.

I'd suggest a decent pair of swim goggles. I had a few teammates (college swimming team) who used them with contacts and it seemed to work. I have no personal experience however.

I do always sink with daily lenses and no problems at all. I DO close my eyes while going under though. Some mud gets into the eyes but as long it is not too much you should be safe.
Sinking with glasses would worry me much more!

Thanks for the info! Nice to hear they're not an issue cause yes, sinking with glasses is a pain. Actually doing most things with glasses is a pain, especially when your eyes are so bad you can't really function without them.

I use lenses for any physical activity, also swimming. Keep in mind that I'm talking about disposable daily lenses (soft ones). I don't have multiple use models. Losing these in a muddy environment is much more expensive.

I have no idea what type I'll be getting yet but will keep that in mind. Thanks again!

I also wear daily disposables for when I go sinking but I keep my glasses in my dry bag in case the disposables I put on pre-sinking end up getting lost in the mud or whatnot. I've tried bringing spare disposables with me before and even with a portable mirror and relatively clean hands... putting contacts in on the go is a pain.

Also. On the goggles front, they do make swim goggles with built in correction for nearsightedness. For example: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B078MPHFJQ/ They really only work if both eyes are similar in prescription strength.

Lol, sure they can.
There are people who cannot tolerate contact lenses and they want to sink, too

Of course, but the original issue was needing or wanting to wear the contacts.
