I only had four actresses, but for me, the most uncomfortable part of the process was actually talking to them first about what I wanted to film and who the audience was likely to be. I didn't shy away from the word "fetish" and I did let them know that there were guys who had a thing for this thing.
I never looked forward to those conversations but it wasn't fair to them to not tell them.
That means that by the time we got to the mudpit, all of that was settled.
I had so much mudpit experience of my own that I wasn't concerned about anyone submerging. I did have that one site, though, that was crawling with poison sumac. I definitely worried about that, but she was a good listener. She came out of it just fine.
