I remember a long time ago, back in the early 80's, trudging thru some thick mud on the banks of the Ohio with some friends with a houseboat. We didn't go too far into it as it was indeed as close to quicksand as I'd ever encountered. Mostly just scooping up globs of mud and having fun with that for a short period.
