Fred Ward

Postby jagfiles » Sun May 15, 2022 7:52 am

I found out actor Fred Ward passed on.
His name may not have been entirely reconizable but he did star in the movie Tremors a Clint Eastwood movie Escape from Alcatraz and probably one of the greatest movies The Right Stuff

"Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins..." (1985) was a fun movie. But I recall when the ads for the movie hit TV commercials, and it felt to me like they were just ripping off and riding the success of the first two Indiana Jones movies that came before it (Raiders 1981... and Temple of Doom 1984). And basically they were doing just that. As such, I didn't see it until it hit video rental stores.

There was going to be a series of Remo movies, but very poor box office earnings killed that plan.

R.I.P. Fred.

According to IMDb, there was also a 1988 pilot for a TV series as well as an extremely poor 2017 sequel apparently made that way on purpose as a tax write-off.

RIP Fred. I always liked the consistency of that pit, the almost oatmealy look to it. Maybe a producer could do a remake but with a much slower sink speed!
