Anyone remember when we first saw something on quicksand in a web page. THE MIND IS THE KEY was the first shock. Second came good old Gecko and slowly the images and thoughts came out. Now do a Yahoo search (more comes up on this subject on that engine) for quicksand and today we see about 100 images. We've come a long way my friends.

I think the confusion is ambiguity on context. 100? or 1000? where? If "available on line" is the context then the number would be well over 100,000.

100 or so images sounds about right - for a first pass. Once you click 'see more results', or (even better) select an image and then 'find similar images', then all bets are off.

This is all dependent on the search engine involved of course, as well as what options have been selected therein.

The thing that always gets me is the inability to know what it would be like starting out, to easily find so much visual content quickly. Heck, you don't even have to wait for a certain day of the week to find out if the possibility of something tasty appearing on TV will pan out.
