i was gonna post in the drawing section then realised i wasn't actually adding anything creative myself
i'm taking bout the quicksand itself? forget the person in it cept for the way the qs or bog or mud is drawn round the figure, and how it ripples... how it looks wet etc?
my two candidates are acidtester for colour and the way it is shown sucking up the legs and bodies of his safari girl, and myrddyndewyn whos bogs and quicksand always look suitably churned with lil puddles to remind us of the wetness
who draws the best quicksand?

My vote for best overall mud texture and interesting consistencies goes to...
Merlyn!
It is a high achievement. He never has a boring bog. It's always got interesting stuff going on in it and floating on top of it.

The Doomsand color pencil drawings just posted are very strong on detail of the quicksand itself, good drawings of sinking overall, nice heroine, good at portraying the danger element.

Re: who draws the best quicksand?
The very best quicksand is drawn by Merlyn and Taral Wayne.
Merlyn's quicksand has nice thickness, great detail that makes look like, if not better, than the real thing, plus his quicksand reacts quite nicely with his subject.
Taral Wayne's quicksand has a very nice thickness to it that portrays something capable of grasping and holding fast the feet and legs of a wandering wayfarer. He also occasionally adds scattered leaves upon the surface of his quicksand and deep mud to add an overall natural look.

I agree, Merlyn and Taral Wayne draw such appealing sinky spots.
Also Mirador, his 3D renderings of bogs are always very detailed and interesting.
