Quicksand Ardor

Postby jdguyb » Sat May 09, 2009 1:43 am

I'm writing a book! I seriously want to publish a novel about our favorite topic. Quicksand! I'd tell you the idea behind the book but I dont trust everyone out there. Look for it in the next year or two. The possible title is Quicksand Ardor. Maybe someone like Acid Tester can do the cover art. Who Knows! I just started writing it and I am very excited about it. I would love it if some of you bought the book and told me about how much you enjoyed it.

Thanks fred. I thought I'd be having trouble writing a book due to the fact that a good novel is over three hundred pages. But beer might be helping me haha

For a novel, goodness is not in the number of pages. Its in interesting writing, character development, storytelling, and style.

...and a lot more beer. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

I never drink any more, but back when I did drink, I did write stories while drinking...

I considered it perfectly okay to write anything I chose in any condition of drunkenness. The proofreading and edits were done more sober than drunk...but the entire final read-through with final edits, followed by the act of actually posting it online, HAD to be done STONE COLD SOBER.

Once I posted it...I would always refuse to edit it again.

A quicksand novel, or even novella, would be quite an achievement. The challenge will be in the ongoing storyline outside the quicksand context. But, hey - what is a challenge for if not to motivate? Keep the forum posted on this project.
