Quicksand Fans

Hey everyone,

Just was wondering if someone could recommend a quicksand spot in the UK. My wife and I are going for our honeymoon and wanted to get a sink in. We are looking for some real quicksand and would love for it to be private during the day!. Anything helps for I am clueless when in comes to quicksand in the UK.

The estuaries of the river Mersey and river Dee have extensive mud flats. If you time it right, the water drops by around 11m so there are a lot places to explore.

Unfortunately the beaches aren't private, but people do wander out on a hot day. You may be able to blend in the crowd for some innocent fun. Or you can wait for the cover of darkness.

Beaches commonly known for mud/ quicksand include Crosby (Merseyside), West Kirby, and Thursaston (Wirral).

I've sank up to my thighs in the mud at Thursaston without trying. I quickly stopped because I was too self conscious.
