My new quicksand spot

Every summer, I look to find a new quicksand spot and this summer in NJ did not disappoint. After a lot of searching by kayak, I found a small area that had great sucking mud up to waist deep. Sorry, it is not the greatest picture here. I was at first a little bummed, I could not get deeper, but then relieved when I was really stuck and it took me a good 15 minutes just to get each leg free. It was exhausting. A friend that took the picture was ready to help if needed, but after a lot of sucking noises and wiggling, I got out. Unfortunately she thought it was a little too dirty (black mud) to sink. I now have 3 great local spots! I am hoping for 1 more early fall sink if time and weather permits.

Looks fantastic, great find. Do you ever worry about being stuck and not being able to get out?

Is this one only accessible by water?

Lots of privacy for sure but you will always need a partner (when you have one you're really lucky!). Otherwise i would be really worried to get stranded there when something happens with my boat...

I was not too deep so I knew I could wiggle out but it was very hard. Last year I went chest deep and I was truly stuck. It took almost an hour to get out.

Only accessible by kayak. My friend is kind of interested but she will only sink in nice clean sand, that was heavy thick mud.

Why it was so hard? You wasn't barefoot?
U dont find deeper spot here? Bottomless probably?
