Quicksand Fans

It’s so heartbreaking that there’s no actual quicksand or mud anywhere in Ohio. Why does this state have everything and yet nothing at the same time

Between Lake Erie, The Ohio River, and all that flat farmland, what's heartbreaking is you can type this. You're not being serious, right?

I'll give you Lake Erie and The Ohio River but sadly the flat farmland is a definite no go. Farmers don't give a lot of warning shots. If you are in northern Ohio you shouldn't have a problem but as you go south it just becomes hills. Also central Ohio has just become so commercialized. What used to be rivers and lakes are now owned by Intel and Google.

Point is the terrain overall is relatively level unlike here in Middle Tennessee. A big river like the Ohio captures a lot of that as silt and leaves it in great places. You just have to look around and I doubt very seriously the OP has covered a great deal of his Ohio other than by satellite.

I've seen video from several excellent quarry mud locations in Ohio. One was from a quarry in the far northeast corner of the State, another around Columbus, and one down near the Ohio River. I know there are several mudmen who live in Ohio who post on the various forums, perhaps you ought to get acquainted with some of 'em. And don't forget, Google satellite view is your friend too.

West branch resiviour in Ravenna has some decent spots. Trust me on that as one of my favorite places.

Dude that's like 15 minutes away from me! Where exactly do you go, it's a big lake and google earth shows me lots of decent looking spots. Usually i'd just go figure it out but i don't know how many more decent sinking days we'll have this season

Don’t want to give away my (former, and now possibly future) spot, but as far as the Ohio river goes, there’s good stuff out there. Usually near curves in the river. My spot was likely upriver of where others are talking about, that’s all I’ll say.
