Look up this fine website for all kinds of stuff --- and a ton of quicksand and tentacles images if you search the bar. Fantastic

DeviantArt is not unknown here. ;) Myself, I visit there every morning to see what's new.

DA has become seriously disappointing since people discovered that they can just easily pump out endless brain farts, making everything basically look the same with slight variations based on whatever fetish they’re in to. It’s not all bad, but it has definitely drowned out any actual skillful art that used to be the main reason to be on deviantart.
I haven’t posted anything there lately, because it just seems like a lot of wasted effort to create something that takes hours to make, just to be flooded with a bunch of shit that people crapped our with absolutely no effort at all.

I make a lot of that farty-brain stuff but it's for me. Last time I counted I had one folder with like 14,000 bits of my own creation but there's a limit to how much you should expect others to get a kick from. I have very mixed feelings about a lot of this but DA is intended to be a different kind of place.

I’ve blocked so many deviants, just so I could search “quicksand” and not have to scroll thru every single one of their 800 most recent nearly identical AI images they just shat out. And what’s left over isn’t even really worth checking. Until of course a day like today when I see that Viridian had posted something absolutely incredible. But even then it’s almost not even worth checking every day. I could just check here if I want to see more of his work when it comes out. But %99 of it is just thoughtless crap.

DeviantArt is only the biggest art sharing community. Telling us it exists is like saying we can use Google to find QS images.

But yes, it's turned into an unusable cesspit after the rise of AI art. Even before that it was hard to find anything new being released, but now you get 100+ cloned images from the same prompt so all others are virtually buried.

Sadly, youtube too. The site has been flooded with garbage like this when you search under "Quicksand":

Gotta agree, don't even waste my time with DA anymore. AI "Art" has totally fucked it.

Goes without saying that if you want to browse quicksand-related artwork on DeviantArt without being swamped by a deluge of AI-generated images, it's best to join the Quicksand Group, which does not allow AI-generated work. The art is definitely a mixed bag, but at least it's far easier to find specific artists to watch; there are quite a lot of artists I like who post on DeviantArt but not here.

As for AI-generated quicksand images, it does require a lot more work to sift through them and figure out who is worth watching on DeviantArt. I've given up on some users who think it's good to flood their galleries with a hundred images of middling to poor quality every day, all slight variations on the same theme, truly capturing the essence of "slop". Even if there were some truly excellent ones in there, I'm not going to scroll through tens of thousands of images to find them.
