Quicksand Fans

Since I don't have any rivers or lakes nearby, and no access to swampy areas, I decided to set up something like a mud pool at home.
Until recently, I used yeast dough as a base + water for "more clay consistence". But I wanted to find out - maybe someone makes something similar and has other recipes.

Instead of something organic that's going to be a disgusting, stinking, mess in a few days, why don't you just get some clay?

I live in an apartment, not a private house. Accordingly, I do not have much space for a more massive filling. The dough is lighter and takes up less space. And since it is yeast, it rises, filling the volume that is available to me.

It's hard to go wrong with lotion! You can get the cost down around $20/gallon for bulk purchases. Made for skin, comes in a variety of thicknesses, washes away with water, doesn't spoil.

Oatmeal is also rather affordable and delightful. Can be made to any desired thickness. It is a lot of effort to get it out of body hair, so schedule ample time for cleanup!

Water-based lubes, particularly those sold in mix-it-yourself powders, can also be made to any thickness, are long-lasting, and dissolve completely in water, making cleanup and disposal fantastically easy.

Gunge is about 7 quid a bucket, sold as a powder, mix with warm water and preferably an electric mixer (I used a drill and a paint stirrer attachment). To dispose, dilute it to thin it then pour it down the drain.

The consistency isn't the same as mud or quicksand though. Thick stuff feels like custard. Although bright colours are typical, brown and black are available for a more mud-like appearance.
