Amy Lee of Evanescence- sinking scene? You decide.

Postby nachtjaeger » Sun Oct 17, 2010 2:28 am

Okay, gang- it's in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJGpsL_XYQI

If you don't like the music, turn the sound off and fast-forward to about 2:35.

Did a quick search myself, and I'm guessing it is "Lithium".

This link works for me in the UK - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5-7pce5OOQ

More water than QS, though...

Definatley water, but a great scene anyway. She looks great underwater and wet.

Thanks for the link! That is a great song, even though the sinking is mediocre at best!

Amy Lee/Evanessance often visits underwater or engulfment type themes in song and video. Take a look at Going Under for instance. I went to their show while they were in town and Nine Inch Nails led off for them. They ended their set with Quicksand and then Evanessance began with Going Under. How wild was that?

Since Amy is the musical genius behind the band and writes her own stuff I'm wondering if it's just a poetic theme she often visits of if she's one of us? The group hails from Little Rock, Arkansas so maybe they'll shoot a video at Studio 588. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for over 20 years. Thank you.

Seriously, though, if she wants to do a shoot it can be arranged. lol

I was expecting her to just plunge into the water. Then she waded in, and it was as if there was deep mud under the water- and she was sinking!

And was it me, or did the water look kind of thick?

Wow, that was pretty cool! Quite fitting for the Halloween season.

I definitely got the impression she was sinking. Even her body language of twisting back and forth as if looking for something to grab and the way she held her arms as if trying to maintain her balance suggested she was sinking into something beneath the water's surface.

The water seemed to behave as water should; HOWEVER, right at the end where she goes under, is seems the water suddenly thickens around her head. It might actually be her black hair floating up and around then being pulled in after her that gives the water that sudden thick look.

Thanks for sharing this!
