There is a list of movies with quicksand scenes, known as Crypto's List. I'm not aware of it having been updated recently but it would in any case be very complete except for the last few years.

I'd like to start a new list then, one with movies available via netflix. While it's nice to know what old classic movies may have mud/quicksand/etc. scenes, I think it is more useful to have a list of movies that are currently available to view. Netflix has a number of older movies available for viewing instantly, so I'd like to start a list of movies one might view on a whim, using the internet.

Anyone have a suggestion of one or more older films that may be seen via the net?

If you were to spend some time and make a list of which titles were available via Netflix, I could annotate the master list and note the added information.

That would be useful for quite a few folks, I'm sure.

And, before the inevitable question gets asked, I will start (permanently) updating quicksandmovies.net soon.

The Xena series is available on Netflix. It's the only scene I've found so far (the one where Xena and Callisto end up in a pit and Callisto dies).

Also, The Rifleman is not online but you can get it in the mail.

Instead of individual posts, I'm adding some info to the HTML version of Crypto's list. I'm only looking up the ones I'm personally interested in (female sinking, no animation for the most part). I'm making a notation whether they are available to stream online, through the mail, or both. I'll post an update when I have a decent amount of work done.

Attached (if I'm allowed to attach an HTML file here) is my meager contribution to Crypto's masterwork. I have identified many scenes on the list that are available via Netflix, and tried to indicate whether they are available online, through the mail, or both. I even attempted to do proper revision control of the file.

OK, so I tried to attach it and, as I suspected, am not allowed. Can someone be an intermediary for me?
