Rock band name origins...

Postby jagfiles » Wed Jan 19, 2011 8:37 am

Here's a interesting prespective on some rock band names and their origins. Like the band Croded House. The story is the band was renting this house once and they'd let numerous friends stay there since they had nowhere else to stay. It wasn't uncommon to have several people there with the band and not much room. One band memeber one night commented "Boy this is sure one CROWDED HOUSE and hence the bands name. Also the band Bad English which is a pool term. In the early days the band was starting out and had no name. One day they were playing pool and one guy made a good shot and one member commented "That's BAD ENGLISH." That got them to thinking that might be a good name for the group. (by the way to say bad english when playing pool means a compliment to a good shot that's been made)
However though there' s a couple names that would be fun to know for sure if there's any relation to the actual name the band refers to.
Like the group Puddle of Mud and the group Quicksand. Just wonder how the bands came up with the names for the group.

Yeah, man. . . I think I jammed with those dudes once. They played Monterey Pop, right after Doctor Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and right before Wavy Gravy. There was that one girl who sang backup and played tambourine, man, she had these eyes, like sapphires, you could just look into those eyes and. . .
wait, what was I talking about, man?

I love Dr. Teeth! Wish they would do a reunion tour... :)
