A tip regarding the chat room

This has been mentioned before but I am seeing more people lately who come into the chat room for short periods and then disappear, either after saying hello once or not speaking at all even though the room was not otherwise vacant. So, I believe the following suggestion may be useful.
Quite often people enter our chat room while doing other things. They may turn away from their display or even cover the chat window for periods of time. The quicksandfans chat room will, if the option is set, issue an audible signal when someone "speaks" thus signalling others of the fact. However, it does NOT do this until the SECOND TIME someone speaks. I have no idea why, but that's what it does. So, if you want to chat, make at least TWO entries, assuming someone else appears to be present, and give that person a minute or so to respond, before you give up.
