i just saw this on tv as i was flipping through channels, but quicksand has yet again gotten big attention in the news. Here is the article:

In Ukrainian we say, "Говорили-балакали - сіли й заплакали..."
What could be roughly translated as "Were speaking, were talking, then sat and wept"

Why is it that when we read something like this the area in question is always just a little too far from where we live.

... and i agree, even though some of my family lives there it is a redneck filled hellhole where nobody wants to wind up... the largest tourist attraction there are the three taverns on the main drag, lol
