sinking spots in new hampshire

would anyone who knows of any spots in new hampshire, especially in southern nh, please post. very frustrating here because of all the granite. there are many sand pits along rivers but they quickly become gated off as they are owned by sand and gravel companies. Thank you all so much. Jack

Hampton beach has the best array of areas. The salt water marsh has a lot of mud and quicksand pits around. The quicksand gets about navel deep on a 6'6" person, but tightens up has hard as concrete if you sit in it too long. The mud can go from grainy to pudding smooth and can get shoulder deep in places with no bottom to be felt. It just gets so thick it's hard to sink yourself deeper.

Actually, what's neat about it is most of the muddy spots are in these depressed pits, or channels. Jump into a pit and you're usually obscured to at least waist level, and the channels are a god 10-12 feet high with muddy steps to navigate them. The best prts are kind of near the road where the bridge is. Best explored at night. And you can still se the fireworks. Where the houses are you'd likely be too far away. I've explored quite a bit of those salt marshes.
