Tarzan Movies (w Quicksand Scenes) on Sale

Postby quikmoose » Tue Nov 01, 2011 9:44 pm

Dear Fans of Jungle Quicksand:

Critics Choice Video has several old Tarzan movies on sale this month, so thought I would mention it here.

These include the classic sinking of poor blonde Vera Miles in "Tarzan's Hidden Jungle" (a pretty bad Tarzan flick other than that one scene) and several with males-in-quicksand scenes ("Tarzan's Greatest Adventure" and "Tarzan the Magnificent"), plus "Tarzan and the She Devil" in which Jane falls into a jungle pool and has to drag herself out -- not quicksand, but almost.

These DVDs came out a few years ago at the rip-off price of $27 each (!!!), which is expensive even for GOOD movies.

They are on sale now through November 28th for $16.95 each, which I still think it too high, but they will probably come down in price some day, I would think.

Anyway, just a thought for those interested in owning these DVDs and the quicksand scenes of your dreams.

I always liked that "Tarzan and the She Devil" scene. The struggle is impressive and the portions of her wet anatomy made a great impression on my young mind when I first saw it. Very well played. 8-)
It's a dirty job but I got to do it for 27 years. Thank you.

Actually, these are Warner Bros. exclusives and, while it's still a ripoff, the MSRP is $19.95 and you can get them for that at wbshop.com. Most other vendors (like the one linked above) are marking them up, probably because they had to buy them at retail. $17 is not a terrible price for the Warner Archive discs but it's not great either; the WB shop site has periodic bulk sales (the last few years, they've done a Thanksgiving weekend deal where you can order 5 for $55) and sometimes marks down random titles to $14.95.

Thanks!

That's good to know -- I'll look for the Thanksgiving sale.
