Quicksand Fans

Folks,

I'm wondering about dry sand - both sinking in it as well as being buried in it - compared to wet quicksand.

There are some, in my opinion, good dry quicksand scenes, like this one:

and, of course, the recent scenes released by Pamela Rose Productions (super job!).

I've also seen buried scenes and even produced a couple myself, like these:

So, I'm curious: Does the Damsel have to sink in the sand for the scene to be interesting? Does it have to be wet? Personally, I find all of them to be "intriguing"(!) - as it is the struggle that interests me the most.

I like the dry scenes PRP produced as well as others like "Blood Beach."

I agree with Doomsand that the "fluid" look of dry sand adds appeal.

If you make a slow "soles to scalp" sink with full "face-forward" submersion using dry sand (or cork or vermiculite other facsimile), I will download it!

And I'm a 'buried in sand' fan. I thought the Pamela Rose scene from The Ordeal was great and enjoyed yours as well. Hope you'll do more in the future. A full length burial would be neat where the victim is laying in a hole and the sand added slowly starting at her feet and working up, or standing, bound in a deep hole which is slowly filled. Dry sand makes it look like you're watching at the sand on top portion of the hourglass drop. More importantly, I just like to see a good sink no matter wet or dry. Struggling can be nice too, as long as it doesn't drag for too long. I find that there are different aspects that makes sinking in dry sand interesting. Frame shot selection(getting a good view of the dry sand meeting the damsel's goods), the pacing of the sink, and how the damsel struggles. Both work well for me. Burial and dry sand sinking. I loved the bathtub burial, for instance... and if one could rig a giant hourglass up...

I'm being a tad silly there, but just to illustrate the point.

Just bought one of those videos, I must say I'm impressed!

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more "buried" scenes.

Like someone else posted, the fluid movement with dry quicksand on top is most appealing. If you had a spot the could be contaminated(either a natural location or pit that is going to not be used again) with sand on top for a shoot you could get the fluid look without doing cork and water. Probably need to add more sand as she sinks. However the mixture would look cool too as she gets deeper. I think it's pretty cheap at the brick and mortar home stores or a supplier. Just a thought.

Buried in sand works too. I think we talked about it one time trying a clear container and filling it with sand.

I have many thoughts about the topic, so I'll try to comment step-by-step.

This scene could be better, we don't see much. I can remember many such scenes. In general, they are very appealing. But I'd like to see more struggle. Of course, the scenes released by PRP are better than most (if not all) of the mainstream scenes.

I've seen these previews of your scenes. Honestly, I don't like the idea of burial in a bath tub. Also, I don't like the idea of 'body control', 'hypnosis' and other fetishes connected to it. I would prefer to see a girl waking up already half buried, and unable to free herself despite the frantic struggle. Of course, this demands more sand. It could be in a basement, or in a sandpit (studio setting, of course, - nobody in their right mind would attempt to shoot such scene in a place where this can easily happen in real).

But I want to compliment the actress in the second video. She is amazing.

And, by the way, the video didn't require signing in. It just asked me to remove family filter. However, it was labeled as 'private'.

I adore such videos and keep a large collection of them, downloaded from YouTube and other sites. Some of them are insanely sexy on my devious mind

Now I speak about myself, and typically I am in the minority here.

1. I am a fan of stuck videos, and in general I'm not a fan of sinking itself. So, for me it's totally OK when a damsel does not sinking as long as she struggles and can't get out of the place where she is trapped
2. On the other hand, I like it when the situation becomes worse in the development of the scenery. Sinking makes such 'aggravation' of the situation pretty obvious and justified. Without sinking... see below
3. Quicksand - wet sand - dry sand
   • Quicksand is liquid. A victim is sinking deeper and deeper, and becomes more and more helpless. The victim can't dig herself out, because the sand flows back in the hole. The additional drama may be added when quicksand turns into wet sand - then the victim becomes trapped hopelessly.
   • Wet sand is cold, heavy, and stable. Good and scary trap! But if a victim can free her hands, she can dig herself out. And during the rescue the situation wouldn't become worse and worse. It should become better and better! To worsen the situation in the process of the rescue, we need some external threats, like incoming tide or hungry predators.
   • Now the dry sand. Potentially, it may combine advantages of quick- and wet sand. It may flow like quicksand, so that a victim can't dig herself out, but it is not liquid, so swimming or floating in it are not possible. So, it is a good trap, but how to dip a victim in it? Sinking holes in dry sand are more fantasy than reality (but the fictional scenes may be done very well, as I said above). And I don't like the commonly exploited idea of ant lion type traps. How else the dry sand scene may be of the type that I like?
   Here is the idea (but don't take it as if I ask you to make such scene - I don't want to read all the explanations why it is difficult, dangerous, etc.) A victim walks on a sand dune, slides down with some sand, and becomes trapped - partially buried under the slope. After that, any attempts to pull the victim out, or (even worse) to dig the victim out result only in additional portions of sand flowing down the slope and burying the victim more and more...

I find it hard to "suspend disbelief" for the dry scenes.
Though some dry, if done well, are very surreal.

I can't speak to preferring one over another because dry sand/buried like this equally rivals sinking in quicksand for my preferences. I am curious though because "quicksand" is easy enough to find. Slow filling dry sand...not so much, does anyone know of any good links or references on the material?

I can appreciate if this would be better suited for the "request section" and apologize Iif I am making clutter, I just figured that since the topic is here, then it would be relevant to the thread.
