Looking for QS guide FL to MI

Dear deep sinkers,
I've been a long-time lurker, but I'm finally ready to take the slow plunge and go sinking. As luck would have it, I will be driving from Florida to Michigan for work this summer. What better opportunity for my first sink than a cross-country trip? My job will last from late-July to mid-August, but either end of my trip is wide open to muddy detours!
First, just to be clear, I am not looking for hookups or anything like that. I'm a 20-something guy who just wants to experience sinking deep for the first time. I am looking for any tips on locations, or potential sinking partners (safety first!)
I don't mind doing the legwork on google maps if you point me in the right direction (I will also be sure to scour the Sinking Locations thread). What I need most is someone to hold the other end of the rope. Anyone generous and kind enough to share their sinking spot will be rewarded with beer/wine and live music (if there is a piano to be found).
You can mapquest FL to MI for a rough idea of my route. Any help/tips would be awesome (and I've been so curious about the deep clay found in some quarries!) If you want to help a guy with his first sink, please send me a pm!
