It's like a bear made of pork chops. Harmless unless you corner it or threaten its young, then it becomes more than vicious enough to kill you. Recommend a .44 mag to go along with your sinking gear just in case but 9 times out of ten you'll be alright.

Yeah, I saw one when I was going for one of my sinking excursions many, many years ago. They do tend to be harmless unless you actually make yourself a threat to them or their young.

They can be kind of aggressive in nature at times. At least around here anyway. For those not inclined or permitted to carry firearms a pocket full of firecrackers in a plastic bag is very effective against just about everything with four feet.

In their immediate presence, try to not mention the letters B B Q. They get upset.

I don't want to be overrun by such a fellow, so it seems to be a better idea to skip that place till their young are a little bit older.
Lets say two or three months or something like that??

Just take a friend that is slower than you.

The far left end of scale :D
Yeah, if Hickok - who loves big old large frame revolvers - thinks this is an ouchy -- then I think its a bit much. You really need this much oomph, get a rifle in 30.06, .303, or 7.92 :)
