A brief encounter with Paris Kennedy at FetishCon 2009

Hi, all. I think I post something on our forum an average of once per year, so here's this year's episode of "de-lurking."

This past weekend I attended FetishCon 2009 in Tampa, Florida. FetishCon is an annual fetish trade show and convention that is usually held every August at the Hyatt in Tampa. I have no connection to FetishCon and/or to the fetish business whatsoever, but I thought it would be a cool way to spend the weekend, so I registered and went.

I must admit that a big factor in my decision to go, however, was that the website for the event indicated Paris Kennedy (of MPV fame) was one of the half-dozen fetish models who would be attending as a Special Guest of Honor (there are, however, well over 100+ models that attend the event, albeit sometimes very briefly). I found Paris sitting at her booth as soon as I arrived and, after finding a brief moment where she wasn't engaged in talking to a fan or photographer, I approached. I told her I was a big fan of her work for MPV and, after thanking me, she said that she gets "lots of emails" from similar fans about her MPV work. She seemed impressed that such a brief period of work she did so long ago (it seems most of her MPV footage was shot a few years back) has resulted in such a disproportionate, positive outpouring of response from fans.

I asked her about her most challenging sink, assuming she could remember, and while she did not specify a certain one, she said she found the peat bogs to be more challenging to work with because they are difficult to move around in and they smell funny. She indicated she liked the clay bogs, however, because they are so smooth and creamy.

I had one of the DVDs with me and asked for an autograph, which she was happy to do. I pulled my copy of "Expressively Quicksand" from my bag, which features a photo of Paris submerged up to her waist on the DVD's label. Seeing the photo on the label, she laughingly said, "Oh, yeah. I remember that one. That's one of those peat bogs." She signed it and returned it. At that moment, her booth was joined by other persons. I thanked her, said I'd see her around, and departed.

I've attached a photo of the signed DVD in case anybody wants to see. With apologies to Dave Lodoski, I'll never be able to put it in my DVD player again ; )

The moral of this story: Always let your favorite QS model know how much you dig her work -- in Paris' case, she's hearing it loud & clear from all of us and I can tell she appreciates it. Hopefully this was a story worthy of everybody's time to read. Thanks and take care.

That's pretty cool.

Although a lot of your missive was MPV specific, I think it's important for the community to recognize this as a very plausible way to show enthusiasm for what quicksand models do for us - whether they work for MPV or Fred or Robert or Michael.

That's a really great story and I appreciate your relating it. Paris has gotten to be a pretty big deal in the fetish world and I'm happy to hear that she recalls it so well and so fondly. Dave is right about recognizing the models and performers who do this for us. For most of them its a good time as well as a paying job and they love it when the fans enjoy their work. Brinke Stevens is a good example of how it doesn't matter who the producer is. Her memories and fan response from her work at MPV were so good that she was very eager when I mentioned a chance to work for Studio 588. The ladies remember us as a fanatically loyal community. Never pass up a chance to tell them they are appreciated.

i haven't been able to attend FetishCon for a while, but the last time i went i had similar experiences with most of the models i talked to... they may seem like unapproachable goddesses to us mortals, but in truth they're just people who appreciate being acknowledged for their work

Sounds like you had an encounter of a lifetime! Paris really is incredible!

But I have to ask, since she's such a big shot in the fetish world, does that means she too big for QS?

Tampa???? Wow if I would've known that I definitely would've attended being only an hour and a half a way. (or 40 minutes with the way I drive) Would've loved to meet her Paris. I've written her a couple times on her Myspace and she's always responded with how much fun she always has sinking.

Nyssa Nevers was there also- flew there right after her Studio 588 visit. Pretty soon, the QS community will need to sponsor a Hospitality Room at FetishCon for all the MPV/PRP/Studio588/DIDVP veteran models and their fans.

I met Paris at the 2010 San Diego ComicCon where she was one of the professional "cosplayers"; Best "Rogue" ever!

Paris made a final trip to opening season at Camp MPV in 2011. This was after she had quit working for anyone else but she so appreciated the fans here that she enthusiastically agreed and brought Star with her. She appeared to be very up for returning again in 2013 but later declined much to our disappointment. She did some wrestling and tweeted about entering college and then one day in 2016 she tweeted that she was done. Goodbye. Haven't seen or heard anything of her since then. Her account on twitter is suspended, her website remains un-updated, and her Amazon wish list is long gone. Star has never offered a word about her.

However things worked out for her I hope it's all good now. She really was always great to work with and definitely one of the best.
