Quicksand Fans

(or perhaps 'UK sinking accomplice')

It's that time of year again in England, specifically on the south coast, when the ground and air temperature are sufficiently warm enough to go sinking with bare skin (and be fairly confident of it not being *cold*). I was thinking, since shared experience tends to enhance any given activity, I figured that it might me more fun and memorable (not to mention safer) to engunge in this with some company for a change. I know of some private inter-tidal mudflat locations of varying depth between Southampton and Brighton, and also a promising abandoned clay pit that need investigating further (reconnoiter mission is pencilled in). As for other parts of the England, I gather that the Bristol channel has some of the deepest, most expansive areas of mudflats in the land (and by extension, greater scope for privacy).

The forum remains mysteriously quiet, so I'm not expecting to be swamped with PMs and replies, but I thought I'd throw this out there and see what happens.

Or Goodwin Sands? Or Morecambe Bay? Or just about any tidal estuary - something with which our fair isle is supplied in abundance?

But count me out, though. I only write about sinking, I never actually indulge.

Likewise. I'm stuck (heh) all the way up here in Central Scotland, and while I do drive, I couldn't afford the trip. The joys of student living. Otherwise, I'd be down there in a flash!

Actually, now that I've thought about this some more, maybe it isn't such a good idea after all - meeting up with a virtual stranger to do this might be... a bit awkward? If the other person (member) is someone who lives locally, then you could meet up with them beforehand for coffee and become acquainted first, but meeting someone for the frist time at a BOG? LOL! I don't know, this probably says more about me conforming (less, these days) to stereotypical British characteristics, and is in no way a reflection on the members who expressed an interest.

I guess It's probably best to wait until you have a sympathetic girlfriend/boyfriend/SO who is open-minded about trying new things and share the fun with them.
