Quicksand Fans

So every once in a while I like to do a "quicksand" search on deviantart to see if anything new has popped up. Sometimes if I'm really lucky there's fantastic work from a-20, schlamm, and a few others.
However, for the most part I find fucking My Little Ponies playing in mud.
To each their own, but seriously? Who does that turn on??

Search also brings up a ton of roughly drawn 60's actresses being eaten by plants.
No offense to the artist, the only way to get better is by continuing to do what you like.
But IT'S NOT QUICKSAND! Don't tag it as such. Maybe one or two of this artists work showed any kind of mud, and often there's a bunch of them clogging up the search when I'm looking for fucking QUICKSAND.

I know what you mean there, I have the exact same problem too on DA, there's nothing more annoying than improperly tagged images. Especially in bulk amounts!

Post whores tagging their pictures with the entire dictionary to get views.

As far as I'm concerned, you could leave out the "+ Quicksand" part of the subject line and it would still sum up my sentiments precisely.

My own experience with Google searches has shown that, depending on the topic, approximately 99 percent of what pops up has very little or no relation to what I'm looking for. I have reached the conclusion that many 'smart' devices are actually incredibly stupid.

Something else you can do is add a "-" sign before any keywords you don't want in your search results. Here is an example of a series of keywords you can try:

quicksand -band -music -group -"My Little Pony"

I don't know if you are just asking a rhetorical question or what here It should be obvious to anyone who's been tuned into Internet culture for a while that there is no end to My Little Pony fans' reach. Just today I found out about a huge sub-community that likes to insert Ponies with guns strapped to them into the violent, post-apocalyptic world of the Fallout franchise. Does that make any sense to me? No! But just as the Internet gives us voice, it also gives voice to everyone else, and the Pony fans probably outnumber quicksand fans 1-to-1000. I'm not meaning to criticize you, or Pony fans.. just preaching my peaceful philosophy... this is the Internet... I for one enjoy the mostly "free speech" offered here... even though I may shake my head at some of the other content that exists, overall I'm really glad the Internet exists for people to express themselves

Nope, furries and mlp fans are more like two circles on a venn diagram that intersect than one being a sub-genre of the other.
