John Ashton, ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Actor, Dies at 76

John Ashton, known for his role as John Taggart in the “Beverly Hills Cop” films, died Thursday in Fort Collins, Colo., his manager Alan Somers confirmed to Variety. He was 76.

Ashton played Detective Sergeant John Taggart in the first two installments of the “Beverly Hills Cop” series, released in 1984 and 1987, alongside Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold. He reprised his role in 2024’s “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” in which his character is now a police chief.

A representative for the star said he was surrounded by family when he died "peacefully" at his home in Maui on Saturday, Sept. 28.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28 at home. We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all," his family said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

Pete Rose, Major League Baseball's hit king who was later banned from baseball for life, died Monday, the Cincinnati Reds announced.

He was 83.

Specifics surrounding Rose's death are not yet known, though his death was confirmed by the Clark County, Nevada, medical examiner to ABC News.

Some folks probably don't know who this is - He was the original lead singer of the metal band Iron Maiden and sang on their first two albums.
Apparently, he'd been sick for a while (not sure with what) but he didn't let that stop him from performing over 100 shows since 2023. Not even when he was in a wheelchair. :cry:
