I'll admit I didn't know her real name, but I CERTAINLY remember Arlene Martel as T'Pring, the Vulcan woman betrothed to Spock (Leonard Nemoy) in the Star Trek episode, "Amok Time." I also didn't realize the other roles she played in various TV shows. The article mentions many shows that I was such a huge fan of, such as The Monkees, I Dream of Jeannie, and Gunsmoke... yet, I can't visualize the roles she played in those programs... HOWEVER, I do believe I can visualize her as a French Underground operative in one of the episodes in Hogan's Heroes.
I also enjoyed the comments noted in the article, particularly Leonard Nimoy's tweet in tribute to Arlene... "Saying goodbye to T'Pring, Arlene Martel. A lovely talent."
I found it to really cool that Arlene still attended the Star Trek conventions even though she only (to the best of my knowledge) starred in one episode. I also like the comment by her son at the end of the article where he noted what an odd experience it was for him to go with Arlene to the Star Trek conventions because, "guys would have a crush on your mom because she's a sci-fi babe from the '60s."
A "sci-fi babe from the '60s"... that says it all!
