3/16" might not sound like much, but Brad's point should be well taken. Especially when you working on supersonic fighter-interceptors operating at the bleeding edge of the envelope. There are no "little" fuckups

3/16" is a chasm when you're talking about high speeds (especially supersonic speeds). And the blog is spot-on about the reason for all those "mickey mouse" attention to detail things they teach you in basic. It's all a foundation.

PDF available for download at Bring the Heat; 31 pages of technical stuff, but interesting reading -- of note was a D-model Eagle
86-0182 so not a very old aircraft, relatively speaking.
