What's All Of This "Hiss" About?

Postby Jumpoff_Joe » Fri Aug 21, 2015 8:52 pm

So, I must admit after yesterday's crazy photoshoot that I'm a little spent on this quicksand stuff. I'm really bored by it, actually. So - what do you think about this -- STEAM fetishism. That's right: imagine beautiful women in sexy clothing slowly disappearing from view in a very sultry wall of beautiful, foggy steam. They could be stepping into a treacherous sauna or a particularly succulent shower stall. Parts of them could re-emerge, only to be covered in glistening, dewy droplets of clean moisture. I'm sure the last part will really get your blood pumping through all of your various extremities. What you say?

Photography with anything but a GoPro or analogue will be problematic; the concept is a good one, but you'd have a hard time convincing me to expose a Nikon to the environment there; likewise video cameras

It's a strange concept that I dreamt up while driving through Beaverton earlier. Beaverton always gives me strange thoughts in that regard.

I'm back home now, I will get to work on finishing my next feature. :D

If the half-nude voluptuous villainess is slowly emerging from the steamy jungle after the heroine-to-sink thought she was truly dead, it would work quite well as a plot device.

Seriously...

I get this completely. It's the difference between doing what want to do completely for yourself and doing things that, while you yourself like doing them, you are nonetheless straining to make good enough for others to love as much as you have loved the things you've done for yourself. You've also got the models to worry about and expenses. This isn't the same as doing something alone, like quicksand art, only for fun.

Go for it. It sounds pretty sexy. Search around for forums...maybe somebody's made a fetish forum about it. As for the camera, Kham is right that it may be an issue, but if they can make underwater cameras, there must be an answer.

There is UMD.net if she gets steamy enough to qualify as wetlook!

I'll be honest, actually -- if given the choice between continuing to work at my day job as I have for the bulk of my life, or shooting video and pictures of people in quicksand, I would choose the latter -- hands down. I feel as if I'm torn between two careers, honestly. The second job -- my "night job" as I call it -- has most of my attention right now. I don't have a social life beyond that, and I simply don't mind. It's just freaking awesome! :D

All things are relative. Shooting quicksand video may not be as interesting as traveling to another planet, but...compared to some things...

When I shot most of my scenes, all I had to do was say to myself, "Do I want to be here in the quicksand (or on firm ground shooting a model in it) or do I want to be in an office?"

That was the end of any restlessness I had about my quicksand career.

By the way, I've been noticing your work. Keep it up, you're doing good.
