Why

Only actual scientists who arent pushing an agenda should talk about anything science -related on the net

He DOES know they are composed of CO 2 right?

...didnt think so

Actually, the Martian polar ice caps are composed of water ice with a top covering of dry ice.

See
Oh
Two

There is no physical evidence whatsoever the caps are water ice
Just a theory
And considering the level of retarded theories the assclowns have about our OWN planet, until someone goes there and gets me a sample, AND drinks it, its under the heading NOT PROVEN

Seems to me that there's about an equal amount of evidence showing that they're CO2. Personally, I think they're frozen Miracle Whip.
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

In terraforming circles, it has been postulated that, by sublimating the Martian polar ice caps, you might be able to release enough CO2 into the atmosphere to allow the planet to warm to the point where you could grow hardy plants, which would, in turn, produce oxygen. However, getting enough inert gas like nitrogen into the atmosphere to bring the pressure up to a level that wouldn't boil a human's blood at body temperature is still problematic.

You wouldn't want to do that with nukes, though.

I once had to review a scientific work which its author proposed as his PhD thesis. (Though it was hand-written on 5 sheets of A4 paper). The work promised to solve all problems of Ukraine with energy generation. The author could not see any other problems that a realization of his project could cause.

So, his assumptions were:
1. Ukraine refused to keep its nuclear weapons but a lot of H-bombs still were here and nobody in Ukraine knew what to do with them
2. When an H-bomb explodes, a huge amount of hydrogen is released
3. (Was not stated clearly but the author obviously thought that way) The Black Sea was the sole property of Ukraine.
The idea of that great inventor was to construct a large solid dome, to put it on the bottom of the Black Sea, as deep as possible (he knew that the sea is very deep), to put an H-bomb under the dome, and to detonate it. As he expected, in the result of the explosion a huge amount of H2 will be collected under the dome causing it to pop-up. We only had to convert the energy of that movement into electric form (he had a drawing of a simple mechanism for that purpose). On the surface we should replace the H-bomb with a new one (remember - we have a lot of them!) and let the dome sink (we could utilize the energy of its decent as well). Then repeat the detonation. Voila!

The inventor was directed towards me from the rector office - to get an approval from physicists. I, in turn, explained him that while I really was a physicist, I was not a professional in nuclear energetics. So I directed him towards a dean office of "more relevant" school. Fortunately, he never came back (there were others who invented an antenna for gravitational waves and their device should be able to levitate in the nearest future but at that moment only demonstrated a 0.5% loss of weight that actually was never approved by more precise weighing - those guys kept returning again and again).
