dont know if anyone notcied but the title of thread should say 1951-2014 not 1951-1963. being nitpicking but given how influential williams was i think it would even be almost out of honor to like correct the thread title (if that can be done--i dunno)
anyway mrs. doubtfire will always be probably his most remembered film. I cant think of any others that were as good. even good morning vietnam and good will hunting and dead poets society etc..didnt have the punch and creative genius of mrs. doubtfire.
to give people an idea how influential he was his death was the top news story OVER the mega-riot going in St. louis.

Yeah, I just edited. Sorry, about that. Chalk that up to being still shaken up over Williams' passing.

Oh shit. I actually remember watching the episode of Happy Days in which Mork appeared. Apparently the producers were so deluged with letters (letters - how quaint) demanding his recall that they came up with Mork and Mindy.

His off the cuff, spontaneous style of comedy made him 'certifiable' as far as I was concerned, but he also made some beautiful heartfelt performances in all his movies. Jonathan Winters was Robin's inspiration. Now they can both do comic routines together up there now! I enjoyed Robin a whole lot, he will surely be missed!
