What you don't hear about as much are the many players in the NFL, some of whom I have known personally, that are genuinely well behaved people. Either way the league is not interested in promoting a bad image or possibly being held liable in our super litigious society. As a fan who is at every home game of my team I wish they could impose the same rules of behavior on certain fans. I have been in the same seat for 15 years and am pretty much the Lord Mayor of my section. We have few problems as a result but that is not always the case in other stadiums around the league.
Not sure that "Classless society" and "Billionaire" sit well in the same sentence - although I'm enough of a realist to know that Utopia is a pipe-dream.
If the piece I read about Mr Irsay was accurate (and I know that rumours on the internet so rarely are), he was done for driving under the influence of pain-killers. Leaving aside the fact that I wasn't aware that this was illegal (I've driven home from the dentists looking like a stroke victim) I don't exactly see the link between painkillers and alcohol (though after getting home from the dentists, I did use rather a lot of alcohol AS a painkiller). Ah well.
Oh, and "Lord" Mayor? I thought that such concepts were anathema Stateside.
