Since Mark Hamill's name is in the credits on the poster, Luke should show up somewhere in the movie. But, I guess they want things to be a surprise, and to get people talking, creating quite a buzz with numerous speculations/theories being thrown around.

If Lensflareboy tries that, he better keep the engines on the Falcon running, and ready to jump out-system. Because there will be NOWHERE on this planet to hide to avoid getting torn to small shreds by people. Not only would it be "Stupidest Idea EVER" it would also completely erase Anakin's sacrifice and redemption in killing the Emperor. Which pretty much makes the original 3 films pointless, and reducing the saga to a toy-marketing disney bullshit machine. And they might think otherwise, but it would kill the francise. It's one thing to make fun of the original fans as "just old guys" but quite another when their premise is based on destroying the entire reason for the saga.

Again, Driver was announced as Kylo Ren and he hit up Comic-Con to reveal some photos of his character in the film. Vanity Fair also revealed his face outside of the Ren mask in their massive photo spread. Furthermore, his voice is clearly heard in the new trailer coming out of this character as he says, "Nothing will stand in our way. I will finish what you started," presumably addressing the scorched helmet of Darth Vader.

I'm certainly not read up on Star Wars, I just like the movies. My musing was really just based on the poster. I've watched the two trailers like, once, each.

Anakin turned even though he had decades of training and an entire Jedi Academy to support him. Yoda was right, too old, too many issues, couldn't handle the power and it corrupted him.

Now along comes Luke, who gets what, maybe a few months with Obi-Wan and Yoda (hard to tell how long he was on Dagobah)? Then both times he duels Vader he ends up totally losing his shit (and an arm, the same arm Anakin lost first, one HELL of an omen there).

The son becomes the father....and the father, the son.
