it would really shit on some of the current fans, since if they stayed true to the book a little, There IS a Dizzy Flores character! Who dies, on the way back to orbit even. IN ACT ONE Boot to face!

And Dizzy was a guy in the book. Plus, it would be nice if they cast an actual Filipino as Johnny Rico.

Hope they'll include the neodogs and their handlers in the new movie, as well. I thought they were an interesting concept.

It has gotta be over 30 years since I read the book, I don't know if it's even somewhere to be dug out But that would be hilarious. And the current Hollywud crowd would probably nod ok at THAT bit...

Clearly, for a film it needs some screen-playing, since a whole lot of the book is all training stuff. It's a lot more interesting though, when later on when the War is on (after getting nuked, sorta like they did in the Comic -movie) they doing the hit n run stuff, and OCS John Rico runs into Corporal Rico (his father) en route to assignment. He had a change of heart after the bugs leveled Buenos Aires and his wife was killed. Lot more actual character-stuff they could use there
