If I had 30 grand and was planning on keeping the house geo-solar is exactly what I would do. The two compliment each other perfectly becauze the geo plant is super efficient, which means you need less solar cells to power it.

Indeed. The calculations are always more complicated than most would realize. In my case I have to calculate based on amortizing the system over a shorter period than the life span of the system. To be more specific, MY life span comes into play. In 30 years I will be about a month short of 97, and probably no longer around. For me, the system has to project to break even in 15 years or less.
