Looks like Montreal is taking matters into their own hands, I support it 100 percent.
Rumor is also that Air Canada (NHL's 2nd biggest sponsor) is pulling their sponsorship from the NHL because of its inability to protect its players from stuff like this, looks like this is FAR from over.
Edit: Its not a Rumor anymore, they have officially threatened it.
Absolutely despicable.

Not a Rumor
Yep, and some of the comments are hilarious, in a scumbag fashion. One genius is ranting about boo hoo, only in Canada.... ahem, douchebag de jour: the kid is from New Canaan, Conn.
Almost certain nothing comes of it, but if it shows up the NHL in general and a certain napoleonesque commissioner and his minions in particular, it is good

And, Buttface speaks
Pretty much as expected, he just HAS to respond...
What catches my eye, is that whoever wrote this is an utter imbecile. The usual mouthwash, but in the middle of the statement
Translation to us dumb mammals out in the wilderness : You, are quite comfortable with a horrific injury. Ok, no problem. Like I says before, just hope the other fella doesn't lose an eye or two to a wayward stick...
Oh, and love the trying to call Air Canada's 'bluff' on how he would just get replacement sponsor... sorry, choked on my coffee with laughter.... yeah, like the NHL is busting down doors in markets everywhere for that. Gary, sometimes you just prove what an utter asshole you are.

"Our hockey operations people are extraordinarily comfortable with the decision that they made," Bettman said. "It was a horrific injury, we're sorry that it happened in our fast-paced physical game, but I don't think whether or not supplemental discipline was imposed would change what happened and in fact the people in the game who I have heard from almost to a person ... believe that it was handled appropriately by hockey operations."

Tangental to the incident, but considering the NHL's less-than stellar handling of things here, THIS while even just a RUMOR, would be the equivalent of blowing up the league. One of those pesky things called consequence Bettman and his minions don't like to think about when they cooking the books and working on their latest propaganda
This, would be a disaster for hockey

It's one thing to think, yeah, the NHL will probably do little. Its another to actually say it, and appear cynical about it - with web and twitter now, you get instant feedback. And in the shorts too
You Canadians do have a beautiful turn of phrase. Love it! Funny- used to work for a guy named Rowback, and he frequently had to.

**** Off, just proving how offensive Bruins fans are.
Hope you feel good about an Attempted murderer (Zdeno Chara) being your Captain...he does not deserve the Stanley Cup they just won.
We have 24 Stanley cups anyway, have fun catching up to that, oh wait, you never will!
