I found this rather amusing given the situation...

Not to sound cynical or Orwellian but how about some proof of his death say a picture or video, hmmm?

Nope, not at all. Bin Laden was only one of thousands (?millions?) of scum bags around the world that desearve no better then what he got. What this does show the world is that if you fuck with us we will not stop till we fuck you back. Wheather it takes a day, a month, a year, or a decade, eventually payback will come, and boy oh boy will it be a bitch.
So, anybody else really, really, REALLY skeptical that our "friends" the Pakistanis not knowing where our public enemy no. 1 was hiding? Massive milion dollar estate in a city only 60 miles from Islamabad, within walking distance of a major military installation.....yea uh huh took those assholes comepletely by surprise huh? Something smells rotten about that.

Well to be fair, he was near a golf course too.
How unfortunate you didn't have a proper guide to navigate these swamps.

Re: Osama Bin Laden is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do see his death as being more of a morale victory than a practical one. A bit of catharsis for us, and showing them that noone is untouchable unless they deliberately kill themselves somewhere where they won't be found. Odds are good that it hasn't dealt fatal damage to Al-Qaida's network of cells, although it might convince some of those cells to attempt acts while their fevers are high, and hence into giving themselves away to the authorities.

Bravo Zulu to the Warriors of Seal Team 6, and all the special ops guys no one will ever know who finally terminated this cockroach.
And it is practical : if this brings all his miserable minions out of their holes for 'vengance', it makes it easier for the boys to kill them
Myn, while my idea for disposal of his remains might be more... creative, crab shit at the bottom of the sea works just fine

At this point it's a kick in the nuts after taking a baseball bat to the head. What you had before was a huge, coordinated network with massive financial backing. What you've got now is a bunch of small, seperate and best of all, underfunded groups that might still call themselves Al-Quaida, but they're a shadow of their former selves. Believe it or not, 10 years on the warpath really has accomplished something.

I'd have cremated the remains, mixed the ashes into a batch of clay, made some toilets out of the clay, and installed them in the first set of completed public restrooms of the Freedom Tower as pay toilets. 10 cents a piece to piss on the SOB and all the mony goes to the 911 Victims Fund.
In all seriousness though, I see the wisdom of just dumping the corpse in the ocean. It'd be hard to find a country that would accept it in the first place, and even if you did the gravesite would become a shrine for all his buddies.
